Production: Digipak mock-ups 2

This is my final album cover, I have used a beach photo to match the setting of my video even though it is the polar opposite to the album name. The text is the same as my digipak poster and my video to keep the consistent house style. I have used the parental advisory logo on my cover because it is a legal requirement. The hash tag on the bottom right is a handle to twitter which my young technologically advanced target audience would get.

Revisions

I had some feed back from my teacher, and the main concern was that the track lists on the back and on the inside cover were both hard to read, so for this reason I set out to fix that problem and after experimenting with colours i have decided to use a translucent black box to define the white text. I then shaped the box to fit the rest of my album cover.

Production: Digipak Mock- ups 1

I think that my front cover and rear cover are stronger than the inside of the digipak as the images are better placed and suit the song title better.

These are a mock up that I have made, These images are all sourced from the internet and so will not use them for my final project but this does allow me to see how my digipak would look if i went for the dark style.

Production: Digipak advert Prototypes

This is my first mock-up of my poster; I like the image and the effects I have applied to that image but it has several weaknesses. One of the main weaknesses is the fact that the social media is to large and the text is hardly visible. There is also a black bar across the top of the page because the image is slightly too small.

This is my second mock up, I have changed the box at the bottom to make the text at the bottom stand out but from peer evaluation I have learnt that there is too much white blank space at the bottom of my product. I changed the size of the image because the white box hides the extra black band.

This is my final product; I have decided to remove the box at the bottom completely to make the product look better. I have added more faded triangles to make the product look nicer but also it builds a house style with my other products. The triangle theme is used on my album and my video so my brand is recognisable. I have also used the footer bar because it is used on my album and contains the music company logo. I have moved all the social media logos the bottom as well and not used the appropriate handles because I have a young technologically advanced audience that will be able to find the relevant pages regardless.

Production: Photo shoot images and edited versions

These are the images below I have used fro my front and back cover. Instead of traditionally using Photoshop I have made use of social media 'Instagram' in this case as it is simple and effective. It also makes my images square. This is a good shortcut and probably made the images look better than i could have done on Photoshop taking hours.

Production: Digipak photo editing

This is the original photo i will use for my Digipak advert.

I have used adobe photoshop to darken the image somewhat, this gives the image more charecter, i have done this by lowering the brightness. Darkening the image has also made the link to the album/song 'Nights'.

Production: Album cover inspiration

This is Aviciis current album at the time of me creating my album. It is very minimalist and I like this feature.

Production: Poster examples

These are some posters that I have researched that are similar to my genre. These all use vibrant colours, based around one main image. I will take this convention to create my own Poster.

Production: Digipak Dimensions

The sizes a digipak can come in is either 4, 6 or 8 panels. We chose to go for a 4 sided digipak, this is because we wanted people to not get too overwhelmed with a larger one filled with images, like an eight dimension one. Using more sides means that there will be an increase of information about the artist, whether it is pictures or writing about the track itself. Below are examples of the different sizes, the last one which is the four sided one is the one we have chosen.
